I cry in the rain...

Its a lonely day, i want to play
Life spins around..
I've won some, and lost some too,
Nothing else i found..

A tiny wish to hold
A secret thats still untold
Please be mine, mine again
As i cry today in the rain

Where's..
The face that lit a spark,
The voice that made a mark
The hand that led the way
The eyes urging me to stay

Those moments we caught
Like a falling star
The times we'd together
Now seem so far

I miss the laughter
I miss the fun
When all we had
was each other as one

A tiny wish to hold
A secret thats still untold
Please be mine, mine again
As i cry today in the rain

HOCKEY WORLD CUP 2010.... Dhak Dhak Go

What: The 2010 World Cup will be the 12th instalment of the tournament and the second to be held in India. The first was in Mumbai in 1982.

Where:
Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi, India

When:
Feb 28 - March 13

We shed tears of joy when Sachin scored a 200
We're crazy about the Wimbledon and Football Leagues
Cricket runs through our blood. Its the glue that keeps us together.
We wail
We sulk
Yet again
We smile
We hug

But, when asked, we plainly answer
" Hockey is our National Game"

So very ironic!

Why is this "Step-Motherly" treatment meted out to the Game!???

This Sunday, the World Cup Of Hockey embarks on yet another journey(wonder how many of us know that!?)...
India beat Argentina 2-1 in a practice game!

Shows great Promise indeed.

Germany have been the Unbeaten till the last 2 times, but, if we Cheer enough and Team India proves its mettle.. Together We'll make history!!!

Go Cheer!

The Sunscreen Song =)

“Everyone’s Free (to wear Sunscreen)” by Baz Luhrmann – often refered to as “The Sunscreen Song", is one of my all tym fav songs..

The 'song' is musically based on “Everyone’s Free (To Feel Good),” a song by Quindon Tarver on the soundtrack to Luhrmann’s blockbuster film William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
It actually sounds like a commencement speech, set to music. It 1st appeared as a column in the Chicago Tribune on June 1, 1997 entitled "ADVICE, LIKE YOUTH, PROBABLY JUST WASTED ON THE YOUNG" by staff writer Mary Schmich.

Sometime around Thursday, July 31, 1997, Mary's article found it's way onto the internet in the form of an email hoax, claiming to be the 1997 commencement address of Kurt Vonnegut to MIT grads. The real address that year was actually delivered by U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan on June 5. You can find it posted on MIT's website.

A year later, the email re-circulated claiming to be Kurt's commencement address to the Class of 1998!

The email caught the attention of Australian film director Baz Luhrmann.

Luhrmann eventually tracked the source of the speech to Schmich, and contacted Chicago Tribune management to buy the rights to the words to turn it into a song. He took Quindon Tarver's "Everybody's Free (to Feel Good)" song, remixed it.

The song received heavy airplay from American radio stations nationwide after KNRK in Portland aired an edited (about 4 1/2 minute) version in the spring of 1999 -- about the time of graduation that year. According to Luhrmann's label, Capitol Records, it became the most requested song on radio morning shows in Atlanta and Philadelphia

Friends....Random Jang

"In Good Times our Friends know us,
In Bad Times, we know our Friends...."

Truly opined!

A true friend is the one who will stand by you in the harshest of tempests...
When life is on the right track, everyone you know seems to be ur bestest bum-chum.
You have fun, fool around n have a gala time.
But, at the end, when even the slightest thing goes wrong, the onus is only on YOU.
At such times, only a true friend would make the effort to read your mind.
Empathy counts!
Only they would make you smile, laugh and live life like before.. evry1 else drifts by.

Life is a series of choices we make...
U make some
U break some

It goes on...
But the only thing that really lasts, like an anchor, is true friendship that asks for nothing in return.

~ Dedicated to a really special friend,
'Badoo!'

What Paper Presentations are all about

It was my first try at a paper presentation.
Axlerate, the Tech-fest organised by the Mechanical Dept. of MIT, Pune, is a most sought after event...
It includes an array of various competitions, including paper presentations.

Contrary to the great 'gyaan' bestowed upon by many of my seniors, i quite liked this event.

Paper presentations are meant for all those (irrespective of the Year u are in!) who like researching, compiling info n looking beyond the horizon.

WHY TO DO A PPT?
1. It is an added asset in ur profile, when u go fr higher studies.
2. It invariably, adds to ur knowledge n makes u self confident in many ways.

WHAT TOPIC TO CHOOSE & HOW TO GO ABOUT IT?
1. U either choose a simple topic and personalise ur paper in every way.
Ur hardwork should be evident when u present ur paper.
2. U choose a topic that is rare and go about it the way u like.
Here, it doesnt matter even if u just copy/paste stuff, but finally, u know for urself, that its crass finally.

TIPS FOR PPT:
1. Present the info in a simple manner so that every Tom, Dick, Harry understands.
2. For a powerpoint presentation...
i) Be confident of what u talk and prepare accordingly
ii) Incorporate pictures, tables, graphs.. Generate interest
iii) Keep coming back to the main points under consideration.
iv) Simplify the layout of the presentation by giving a 'Key' at the start

Finally,Keep it Simple !
